 The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, located in Kandy, Sri Lanka, is a sacred site housing the left canine tooth of the Buddha πŸ™.The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is situated within the royal palace complex of the Kingdom of Kandy, which existed from 1592 to 1815. It was first built by King Vimaladharmasuriya I and was destroyed by Portuguese invaders . The current temple was built by King Sri Vira Parakrama Narendra Sinh. A sacred site for Buddhists, it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 



The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a revered site for the Sinhalese people, beautifully adorned and hosting regular ceremonies, especially on poya days . It's a symbol of Sri Lankan identity.
